Project description
We run a martial arts school with several groups of children and adults and regular gradings for belts. Right now everything about our students lives on paper: belt ranks in a folder, attendance in a paper register, memberships and payments in a notebook, and grading results on loose sheets. While we have few students this is bearable, but we already lose the thread — we miss who is due for the next exam, whose membership has expired, and which child has skipped too many classes to be ready. We need one reliable system to replace these scattered records.
The core of the project is a student profile: personal details, current belt or rank, the full grading history with dates and examiners, and an attendance log tied to the class schedule. An instructor should mark attendance quickly from the mat and see who has earned enough sessions to be eligible for the next exam. The same system must handle memberships and payments — types, start and end dates, remaining visits, renewal reminders, and a clear payment history per family. Most of our students are children, so parent communication matters just as much: notifications about schedule changes, gradings and payments without phoning everyone.
We would like a clean admin interface for the front desk and instructors, with role-based access so a coach sees only their own groups. In your reply, please describe similar experience and a realistic timeline.
Key modules:
— students, belt progression and grading history;
— schedule with fast attendance marking;
— memberships, payments and expiry reminders;
— exam eligibility by number of sessions;
— parent notifications and role-based access.
