Project description
We run a construction equipment rental business and manage everything on paper right now. We have a fleet of tools and machinery — concrete mixers, generators, scaffolding, jackhammers, compactors, small excavators — and every booking is written into a ledger by hand. Because of that we double-book units, lose track of which machine is out and which is due back, and spend hours on the phone confirming what is actually free on a given date. We need a proper online rental system so customers can see real availability and reserve equipment themselves without calling us.

The heart of the project is an equipment catalog where each unit has photos, technical specs, a per-day and per-week price, and its own availability calendar. A client should pick the dates, see instantly whether the machine is free, and place a reservation online. The system has to hold rental agreements, calculate and record the security deposit, and let us schedule delivery and pickup with a time window. We also need a maintenance status for every unit, so a machine that is in service or under repair drops out of the available pool automatically and cannot be booked.

On our side we want a dashboard that shows what is rented out, what is overdue, what is coming back today, and which units need servicing. Pricing should be flexible — daily, weekly, and longer terms with discounts. Please describe your relevant experience, a rough timeline, and how you would handle the calendar and deposit logic.

— Catalog with specs, photos, day/week pricing
— Per-unit availability calendar and online reservations
— Rental agreements and deposit tracking
— Delivery and pickup scheduling with time slots
— Maintenance status that blocks unavailable units
