Ansible automation: idempotent playbooks, roles and Vault secrets

I set up servers and deploy applications with Ansible so provisioning stops being a manual ritual and becomes a repeatable, hands-off process. I write idempotent playbooks and clean, reusable roles, keep inventories in order for every environment, and store secrets safely with Ansible Vault. You describe the target state once, and I turn it into code that produces the same result on the first run and on the hundredth, whether it touches one VPS or a whole fleet.

My workflow is built around predictability. Every role is parameterised, so staging, testing and production share the same logic and differ only in variables. I split responsibilities into tasks, handlers and templates, guard changes with checks and tags, and run everything in check mode before it touches a live host. No surprise restarts, no half-applied configuration, no drift between servers that were supposed to be identical. When something changes, you edit a variable, not a dozen boxes by hand.
