Volunteer management platform for a nonprofit

We are a nonprofit that coordinates volunteers for community events, and right now everything lives in a tangle of spreadsheets, chats and email. We need a web platform that turns this manual work into a self-serve system. At its core we want volunteer profiles: contacts, skills, certifications, availability and a history of what each person helped with. We also want to publish opportunities and shifts, so people browse what is coming up and sign themselves up for a date and role without us playing switchboard.

The heart of the project is scheduling and hours tracking. Coordinators build a calendar of shifts with capacity limits, see who is confirmed, who is waitlisted and where the gaps are, and send reminders automatically. Volunteers check in and out so hours are logged accurately, and we approve or correct those hours before they become official. We also need announcements, targeted messages to people signed up for one event, and confirmations when someone joins or a shift changes.

Finally, reporting is essential because our grants depend on it. We need exportable reports on total hours, hours by program, by volunteer and by period, plus retention and participation numbers for funders. Please build clear roles, a mobile-friendly interface and reliable notifications.
