Project description
FabricMeter is a web application for a real fabric store where goods are counted not in units but measured from the roll. Each fabric is stored as a roll record: material (cotton, linen, wool, viscose, silk blends), composition, weight in grams per square meter, usable width in centimeters, and remaining roll length. When a customer orders a cut, they choose meters or half-meters, the app checks that the roll has enough fabric, reserves the piece, and reduces the remainder so two people don't buy the same last meter. Since fabric sells by length, price recalculates per linear meter, and the cart clearly shows meters, width, and total. Swatch ordering lets you get small sample cards of any roll before buying yardage, and each sample is tracked so the store sees which materials lead to later purchases. The pattern library contains downloadable patterns linked to recommended fabrics and required yardage, so a dress pattern tells you how many meters of a given width to buy. Sewing class registration goes by calendar with seat limits, levels, and materials lists. The clearance section shows short roll ends at reduced prices, each one unique length and sold once. The admin manages roll intake, reordering, and printout of cutting slips. Built on PHP and MySQL with a responsive storefront.
