Project description
GasMonitor — web application for a company that delivers propane and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and no longer wants to guess when a customer runs out of fuel. Each residential and commercial tank is connected to a wireless level sensor that sends remaining percentage on schedule; the dashboard builds a consumption curve for each account and forecasts the depletion date based on recent consumption in gallons and heating degree days. As soon as a tank crosses the reorder threshold, the application places an automatic reorder request so no one runs out of gas in freezing weather.
The dispatcher has access to a route optimization board: it groups same-day deliveries by geographic clusters, accounts for truck tank capacity in gallons and arranges the order of stops to reduce mileage for each delivery truck. Customers placing will-call orders complete the request themselves from their account and track its status. Billing includes budget plans that split winter gas costs into equal monthly payments, pay-as-you-go pricing and prepaid plans, complete consumption history in gallons and printed receipts for each delivery.
Safety comes first: every fill-up and inspection is logged in an inspection and leak journal with technician, pressure test result and regulator age noted, and the application highlights tanks due for recertification. Roles cover office administrator, driver on tablet and homeowner. The package includes responsive frontend, REST API, sensor reading intake service and mobile web views for driver and customer, with clear documentation so the team can later expand delivery zones and rate tiers.
