PostScript manual writing for printing and vector graphics

I write raw PostScript directly — Adobe's stack-based page description language — rather than exporting it from a graphics editor. As a result, you get clean, compact and fully predictable code that does exactly what your printer, imagesetter or RIP expects, without extra overhead and without surprises during prepress preparation.

What I do: hand-written PostScript programs for printing; procedurally generated vector graphics (charts, technical diagrams, tickets, certificates, variable data layouts) where each page is computed rather than drawn; custom Type1 and Type3 fonts with encoding vectors; ready-made EPS templates that fit cleanly into InDesign, Illustrator and LaTeX; and PDF predecessor documents that distill flawlessly through Ghostscript or Acrobat Distiller.

The code follows Document Structuring Convention (DSC) rules, so your production tools correctly count pages, extract and impose sheets. I work with coordinate transformations, clipping, raster grids, spot colors and color separation, CMYK and Pantone settings, bounding box boundaries, showpage logic and separation of prologue and script for variable data. I test output on actual RIPs and in Ghostscript, verifying each bounding box and each separation before delivery.

Typical tasks: batch printing of thousands of personalized documents from a data file, upgrading a legacy template to a modern workflow, debugging a file that hangs or errors on a specific device, or a compact EPS logo perfectly scalable at any resolution.
