Project description
I have a regular pedal bicycle that has not been serviced properly in a while and it is starting to show. The rear derailleur skips under load, the front brake pads are worn down almost to the metal, the chain makes a dry clicking noise, and both tires are low and probably need new tubes or at least a proper check for slow punctures. I would like a mobile mechanic to come to my address, bring their own stand and tools, and do a full tune-up on site rather than me hauling the bike across town to a shop.
What I am hoping gets covered in one visit: adjust and true the brakes front and back, replace pads if they are too far gone, index the front and rear derailleurs so shifting is smooth across the whole cassette, degrease and lubricate (or replace, if you think it is beyond saving) the chain, check chain wear with a proper gauge rather than guessing, true the wheels if they are wobbling, and check tire pressure plus general tire condition including sidewalls. If something else looks obviously wrong once you have the bike in front of you — loose headset, dry bottom bracket, worn brake cables — please flag it and we can agree on whether to fix it during the same visit or schedule a follow-up.
The bike is a mid-range aluminum frame hybrid, nothing exotic, so parts should not be hard to source. I can either supply new brake pads and a chain myself if you tell me the exact specs needed, or you can bring standard replacement parts and we settle the cost separately from your labor fee — whichever is easier for you. I have a garage with good lighting and an outdoor power outlet if you need one for a compressor or charger.
Budget above reflects a reasonable one-visit full tune-up including your travel to my location; happy to discuss if the scope changes once you see the actual condition of the bike. Please include in your proposal: roughly how long the job usually takes you, what is included versus billed as extra parts, and your earliest availability. Reviews or examples of previous bike servicing work are appreciated but not mandatory — I am mostly looking for someone reliable who shows up on time and explains what they are doing.
