Project description
My dog has been slipping out through gaps in our old wooden fence and I am tired of chasing her down the street two or three times a week. I want to install a wireless invisible pet containment system around our backyard, roughly half an acre, with the transmitter mounted somewhere in the garage or utility closet. We have one medium energetic dog, a border collie mix, about two years old, and honestly she is fast and smart enough to test boundaries the first few days, so whatever system we go with needs a technician who can set it up properly and actually train her on it rather than just handing us a manual.
Our yard is not a simple rectangle. There is a pool on one side and a small vegetable garden on the other, and both need to be excluded from the roaming area entirely, which is part of why I am hiring a professional instead of buying a DIY kit off a shelf. I am open to either a wireless radius-style system or a traditional wire-in-ground perimeter, whichever you think will actually hold up given the yard shape and the slope near the back fence line. If a boundary wire needs to be buried rather than just laid in the grass, that is fine, I just want it done neatly so it is not a tripping hazard and does not get chewed through by the mower.
I have set aside around 280 dollars for labor and basic materials. I can source the actual containment kit myself if that keeps the price down, or you can recommend a brand and I will purchase it separately, whichever is more cost effective. Timeline is not urgent, but I would like this finished within one to two weeks before it gets colder. In your proposal please mention which brand you typically install, how many boundary flags come with a standard kit, how many correction levels the collar supports, and whether you offer a short follow-up visit to adjust the boundary once we see how she responds during the first training week. Photos of similar past installations would be appreciated.
