Project description
I own a pet-grooming salon and I am tired of juggling a paper diary, a messaging app and my own memory. I need a proper booking application that is built around the way grooming actually works, so the center of everything should be the pet, not just the owner. When a client books, I want to pick the animal from a profile that already stores breed, coat type, size, temperament and any special notes like sensitive skin or a fear of the dryer. Based on that profile the app should suggest the right service package and a realistic time slot, because a full-coat double breed takes far longer than a quick nail trim, and my current tools have no idea about that difference.
The second half of the job is the groomers. Each groomer has their own working days, breaks and a list of services they are qualified to do, so the schedule must respect all of that and never offer a slot that cannot actually be worked. I would like a clean day and week view where I can see every chair, drag an appointment to move it, and block out holidays or sick days. Clients should be able to self-book online from the packages I define, with prices and durations attached, and I want the option to require a deposit or at least a confirmation step so I stop losing money to no-shows. Automatic reminders by email and text a day before, plus a short thank-you afterward, would cut those no-shows dramatically.
Photos matter a lot in this trade, so every visit should let the groomer attach before and after pictures to the pet record, which builds a visual history the owner loves and which we can reuse with permission for social media. I am open to your stack recommendation as long as it is mobile-friendly for both my staff and my customers, and secure with client data. Please share a plan and roughly how you would break the work into stages.
