I write software in Factor, a modern stack-based concatenative language, and I do it by choice rather than by accident. Most of my work lives away from the mainstream: I build command-line tools, data-munging pipelines, code generators and small automation utilities where the concatenative style genuinely shines. Instead of naming intermediate variables, I compose words that pass values through the stack, factor logic into tiny reusable pieces, and keep each definition short enough to hold in my head. That discipline produces code that reads like a sequence of verbs and stays easy to refactor, because in a concatenative language pulling a phrase out into its own word is almost free.
My background covers the wider concatenative and stack-machine world, not just one implementation. I am comfortable with Forth-style approaches, postfix evaluation, quotations and combinators, and I enjoy designing small domain-specific languages that let a non-programmer express intent in a handful of well-chosen words. When a client already has a working idea but no clean way to express it, I model the domain as a vocabulary, wire it to the underlying system, and hand back something that is both a program and a readable specification. I care about testing too: Factor's interactive listener and unit-test tooling let me grow a solution incrementally and keep it honest as it changes.
