Project description
We operate an event catering service and our current mix of spreadsheets and messenger chats no longer keeps up. I am looking for a developer to build a web application that handles the full order lifecycle for catered events, from the first enquiry to the final invoice. The core of the app is not a shop and not a restaurant menu with a QR code at the table. It is a quoting and coordination tool built around events: a client requests catering for a wedding, a corporate lunch or a private party, and the app should help us turn that request into a priced, scheduled and staffed order.
The heart of the system is menu selection tied to headcounts. Each event has a guest count, and every dish or package is priced per guest or per portion, so the quote total must recalculate automatically when the number of guests changes. We want reusable menu templates (buffet, plated dinner, canapes, coffee break) that a manager can adjust per event, add or remove positions, apply dietary variants, and generate a clean quote the client can approve. Once a quote is confirmed it becomes a booked order with a delivery window, a preparation checklist and an assigned team. Delivery scheduling should show what leaves the kitchen and when, avoid double-booking the same vehicle or crew, and let us assign cooks, waiters and drivers to each event. Finally the app produces an invoice from the approved quote, tracks deposits and the outstanding balance, and keeps a history per client so repeat customers are easy to re-quote.
