Project description
We are a regional moving company handling household and small-office relocations, and right now everything lives in spreadsheets, a shared calendar, and a lot of phone calls. It no longer scales. I want a single web application built around the real flow of a move: a surveyor visits or calls the customer, lists the rooms and items, that inventory turns into a volume and an hour estimate, the estimate becomes a written quote, and once the customer accepts we schedule the job and assign a crew and a truck. The core of the project is this survey-to-quote-to-dispatch chain, so please treat the item inventory as the heart of the system rather than an afterthought.
On the estimation side I need editable rate tables for labor, mileage, packing materials, stairs, long carries, and storage, so a quote is calculated automatically from the survey but can still be adjusted by hand. Each quote should be versioned and sendable to the customer as a clean summary they can approve. Scheduling must show truck and crew availability on a calendar and prevent double-booking, and dispatch should let me build a crew, attach a vehicle, and push the day's job list to the team with the address, contact, inventory, and any access notes. Customers should get automatic status updates when their move is booked, confirmed the day before, and marked complete.
This is not a courier or parcel app, and it is not a generic fleet tracker. It is specifically a relocation tool centered on home and office moves. Please write clean, maintainable code and a simple admin area; I would rather have a solid, well-scoped first version than a huge feature list half-finished.
