Project description
I am looking for an experienced ventilation and air conditioning specialist to install an ultraviolet air purification system directly into the existing air ducts of the central heating and cooling system. The goal is to reduce the content of mold spores, bacteria and other microorganisms that are spread throughout the house through ventilation grilles: after last humid season, a noticeable musty smell appeared near the return air duct, and one family member has complained more frequently of respiratory tract irritation.
The house is single-storey, approximately 200 square metres in area, with a standard central air conditioner located in a utility closet next to the garage. I would like to receive a proposal for two options at once: a UV lamp for disinfecting the evaporator coil, which prevents the growth of microorganisms on the heat exchanger itself, and a separate lamp for disinfecting the air flow, installed in the main air duct channel. As I understand it, these solutions have different purposes, and many specialists recommend installing both options at once for maximum effect.
Please indicate in the estimate: the brand and characteristics of the proposed UV lamps, expected lamp life and replacement schedule, a convenient service port or holder for subsequent maintenance, a safety switch that automatically turns off the lamp when the service panel is opened, as well as any additional wiring required for connection from the air conditioner circuit or a separate outlet.
I am also interested in power consumption, as I have read that some UV systems run 24/7 without interruption. Quiet operation of the device is important, and I would like confirmation that the lamp housing will not damage nearby plastic or rubber air duct elements over time.
If possible, I would like a simple assessment of air quality before and after installation or a description of how to verify the effectiveness of the system after startup. Please provide examples of similar projects, a detailed estimate broken down by materials and labour, and let me know when you will be able to start work.
