I design and build private cigar lounges inside homes, turning an unused basement corner, spare room, garage bay, or attic space into a proper smoking room that does not push odor into the rest of the house. This is not a generic man-cave build and it is not a wine cellar project: the entire point of the room is managing smoke, ash residue, and combustion byproducts safely, so the mechanical work centers on a dedicated negative-pressure ventilation and air scrubbing system rather than simple climate control.

I install the intake and exhaust ductwork, mount the scrubber unit with activated carbon and particulate stages, wire the fan to a variable-speed controller so the room can be run harder during active use and quieter afterward, and add a humidity control unit so cigars stored nearby and the wood finishes in the room stay stable rather than drying and cracking. Lighting is planned for both ambiance and task use, and electrical circuits are sized separately from the rest of the house so the fan and any accessory equipment run reliably without tripping shared breakers.
Lounge seating, a small side table or bar ledge, shelving for accessories, and acoustic touches to keep conversation from carrying through the house are built in as part of the same project, sized to the room and budget rather than bolted on afterward. I work with leather, wood, and stone finishes that hold up to occasional ash and heat exposure, and I coordinate every material choice with the ventilation design so nothing in the room traps odor in soft surfaces.
