Based on that list I build a paper mock-up first, check the fit, and only then move to full-grain or top-grain leather, depending on the weight and durability you need. The outer shell is stiffened with a firm insert so the bag keeps its shape even half-empty, while the base is reinforced against scuffing and moisture.
Hardware includes solid metal buckles or locking clasps, a wide adjustable and removable shoulder strap, and a top handle for short carries. On request I add a weatherproof flap, external pockets for memory cards and a phone, a quick-access side opening for a single lens, and a discreet exterior with no visible branding for a low-profile look on the street.
The process: we agree on the size, leather color and hardware finish, I send sketches and the paper mock-up photo for approval, then I cut, stitch by hand or on an industrial machine, install the padded dividers, and finish edges by burnishing and sealing them so they do not fray.
