Project description
I have a piano at home that has not been serviced for a long time and clearly requires professional attention. The pitch has noticeably drifted, several notes sound discordant with each other, and the overall tone has become dull and uneven across the registers. In addition to the tuning itself, I have noticed problems with key response: some keys are noticeably heavier than others, a couple of keys stick slightly after being pressed, and repetition in the middle octave works unevenly. I want to hire a master with a home service who will come with all necessary tools and perform a full tuning to concert pitch, as well as proper mechanical regulation of the keyboard mechanism so that the touch (the feel of the keystroke) is the same from the lowest to the highest key.

The scope of work should include full tuning of all strings and unisons by ear or with an electronic tuner, checking and correcting hammer alignment, checking and correcting key height and key depth, regulating the letoff and repetition spring tension where needed, as well as lubricating moving mechanical parts that have become stiff. I also ask you to quickly check the pedals, as the damper (right) pedal currently has play and does not engage consistently. If during inspection any worn or damaged felt parts are found, I ask you to notify me beforehand, before replacement, so we can agree on this separately.

I am flexible with timing and can provide access to the room during normal daytime or early evening hours — whatever is most convenient for your route. Please bring your own tuning equipment and small regulation tools; I do not have specialized piano tools at home. After the work, I would like a brief explanation of what was done and recommendations for further care, such as controlling humidity in the room and the recommended interval until the next tuning. Photographs of adjustment points before and after would also be helpful so I understand exactly what changed.

Please indicate your experience working specifically with pianos (not grand pianos), how long such a combined visit with tuning and regulation typically takes, and whether you offer any brief warranty on pitch stability after the visit. I want to schedule in the next couple of weeks and will prefer a master who has already done similar combined work, not just tuning without regulation.
