Project description
I want to install a whole-house battery storage backup system (Powerwall-style) at my home and I am looking for an experienced, licensed electrician or battery/energy storage installer to handle the full job from assessment to final inspection.
The main goal is backup power during outages and load shifting — storing cheaper off-peak electricity and using it during peak hours to lower my monthly bill. Please note this is NOT a fuel-based generator project: I am not looking for a standby generator hookup or any propane/natural gas equipment, I specifically want a battery storage system. I currently do not have solar panels installed, though the system should be solar-ready in case I add panels later — this job is about energy storage, not about installing new rooftop solar generation panels, so please do not quote solar panel installation as part of this scope.
Scope of work: assess my main electrical panel and service capacity, recommend the right battery size (likely 10-20 kWh, possibly stacked units for whole-house coverage rather than just a few critical circuits), install the battery unit(s) on the garage wall or an exterior wall per manufacturer clearance requirements, install a backup gateway or automatic transfer switch so the selected circuits (or the whole house) switch over automatically during an outage, run all wiring to code, pull the necessary permits, and coordinate final inspection with the utility company and the city.
I would appreciate recommendations on brand (Tesla Powerwall, Enphase, LG, Franklin, Generac PWRcell, etc.), a clear quote breakdown separating equipment cost from labor cost, and a realistic installation timeline. Please also explain any local rebates, tax credits, or utility incentive programs I might qualify for.
This project is unrelated to EV charging station installation and unrelated to a central vacuum system — please only submit a quote for the battery backup work described above. I need someone licensed and insured, with verifiable references from previous battery storage installations, who can realistically start within the next couple of weeks.
