Project description
We're renovating our living room and want it turned into a proper home theater setup. We've already bought most of the equipment — a projector and a motorized screen (a large TV is a fallback option if the technician recommends it), a 5.1 surround speaker package, an AV receiver, and enough cable to run everything, but we don't have the skills or tools to mount, wire, and calibrate all of it ourselves.

The room is roughly 22 square meters with a sloped section of ceiling, so we need someone comfortable running speaker wire through walls or along discreet conduit, mounting a ceiling projector bracket, and hiding cables behind drywall or in cable channels so nothing is visible once the job is done. We rent the apartment and won't be rearranging furniture, so wiring needs to respect the existing outlets, and we'd like the receiver and any set-top boxes tucked into a media console we already own.

Beyond wiring and mounting, we need proper calibration — speaker levels, distances, crossover settings, and screen or projector alignment and focus — so the picture and sound actually match the room instead of just being set up by eye. We're flexible on scheduling and can be home any weekday evening or on weekends.

— Mount the projector or TV and screen securely on the wall or ceiling
— Run and conceal speaker wire and HDMI cabling for a 5.1 setup
— Connect the AV receiver, streaming box, and existing devices
— Calibrate audio levels, speaker distances, and picture settings
— Test the full system and walk us through basic operation
