Project description
I have a bike that hasn't been serviced in a while and I'd like a mobile mechanic to come to my home and get it back into good working order. The bike is used mostly for commuting and weekend rides, and lately the shifting has been sluggish, the brakes feel weak, and I can hear a faint rubbing sound when I spin the rear wheel, which I suspect means the rim needs truing.
I don't have a car to transport the bike to a shop, and my schedule is tight during the week, so I'm looking for someone who travels with their own tools and stand and can do the work in my driveway or garage. I'd like the whole bike assessed first — tell me what's actually needed versus what can wait — and then have the work completed in a single visit if at all possible.
I'm flexible on timing but would prefer an evening or weekend appointment. Please bring your own tools, a repair stand, and common replacement parts (cables, housing, brake pads) so we don't need a second visit just to swap a part that could have been handled the first time.
What I need done:
— Adjust and lubricate the drivetrain (chain, derailleurs, cassette)
— Inspect and replace brake pads if worn, adjust brake tension and alignment
— True both wheels and check spoke tension
— Check tire condition and inflate to correct pressure
— General safety check of bolts, headset, and bottom bracket
