Project description
I have a photo of my dog that I absolutely love, and I want to turn it into a real, hand-painted oil portrait that I can hang on my living room wall. This is not for a printed canvas or a digital illustration — I'm looking for someone who works with actual oil paints and brushes on a genuine canvas surface, the same way a classical pet portrait commission would be done. The final piece should feel like a proper painting, with visible brushwork, depth, and the kind of warmth that only traditional oil technique gives.

I'll provide one or two high-resolution reference photos showing my pet's face and coloring clearly. I care most about the eyes and expression looking accurate and full of personality — that's what makes it feel like him rather than a generic dog painting. I'm flexible on background style (soft neutral tone, simple studio backdrop, or something slightly textured) but I'd like to discuss a couple of options before you start.

I'm hoping to work with an artist who has done pet portraits before and can show examples of past oil paintings, ideally of similar animals or fur textures. Please share your process, expected timeline, and how you handle revisions before the paint is finalized. I want this to be a keepsake-quality piece we'll display proudly, not a quick reproduction.

Requirements:
— Genuine oil paint on canvas, not print or digital art
— Portrait size suitable for wall display (please suggest standard dimensions)
— One to two reference photos provided by me
— Realistic likeness with strong focus on eyes and expression
— Progress photos during painting and a sketch/color approval step
— Finished, ready-to-hang canvas (stretched or on request)
