Project description
I want to order a small run of custom vinyl records for a music project, but before I contact a pressing plant I need to understand roughly how much it will cost under different conditions. I'm looking for an online calculator that shows an estimated price right on the site depending on the pressing run size, record diameter, playback speed and sleeve packaging, so I don't have to call and wait for a manager's reply for every combination I want to compare.
It's important that the calculator reflects the real cost drivers of vinyl production: a bigger run lowers the price per unit, a 12-inch record costs more than a 7-inch one, mastering for 33, 45 or 78 rpm can differ in price because of cutting time and loudness requirements, and a thick cardboard jacket with full-color printing and an inner sleeve is noticeably more expensive than a plain paper sleeve. I also need a rush-order option with a surcharge for expedited production and delivery, plus a breakdown of the estimate by stage: mastering, lacquer/stampers, pressing, jacket, packing and shipping preparation.

— select pressing run size (from 50 up to several thousand copies) with automatic per-unit price recalculation;
— select diameter (7", 10", 12") and vinyl weight/thickness;
— select playback speed (33, 45, 78 rpm) with its effect on mastering price shown;
— select sleeve type (paper, cardboard, with window, with inner sleeve, colored vinyl option);
— rush production option with clear surcharge and turnaround time;
— final estimate broken down by production stage, with an option to save or send the quote.
