Project description
I run a laser engraving workshop and want a calculator on my website that instantly estimates the order price for the customer — without phone calls or long back-and-forth messaging with a manager. Right now people message us and wait hours for a price quote, and some of them simply go to competitors whose website shows the final price right away. I want to solve this with an interactive tool built directly into the service page.
The calculator needs to account for the real parameters of an engraving order: the material of the item (wood, acrylic, metal, leather, glass, plastic — each with its own coefficient for processing time and equipment wear), the engraving area in square centimeters, the complexity of the artwork (simple outline, halftone image, fine detail with many elements), the print run — from a single piece to hundreds of identical items with a progressive bulk discount, and the urgency of the order, which carries a separate rush surcharge. The final price must recalculate instantly whenever any parameter changes, without reloading the page.
It is also important that the base prices and coefficients can be edited from an admin panel without touching the code — materials get more expensive, consumables and machine maintenance costs change, and I need to be able to update the pricing table myself from time to time. Once the calculation is finished, the tool should generate a request with the chosen parameters and the customer's contact details, sent to my email or account dashboard.

— selection of artwork complexity level (simple / medium / high detail)
— a quantity field with progressive discount for larger print runs
— an urgency toggle adding a surcharge for rush orders
