About the service
I'm a blacksmith and knife maker working in my own forge: I hand-forge every knife from steel blank to finished sharpened edge. Before starting, I always discuss with the customer what the knife is for — daily kitchen prep, hunting and skinning, or something in between — because a blade that looks beautiful but doesn't fit your grip and needs will just remain a decoration.
You choose the steel and blade shape — chef's knife, santoku, hunting knife with teardrop point, skinner, or your own sketch that we'll discuss together — and the handle material: stabilized wood, horn, bone, micarta, or layered leather. I forge, grind, harden, and hand-finish the blade, and adjust the handle balance so the knife lies in your hand exactly as you need it.
What's included in the order:
— Forged blade from your chosen steel
— Handle in the desired material and shape for your hand
— Full heat treatment and finishing of the cutting edge to working sharpness
— Fitted leather or Kydex sheath
— Photos of the knife at each stage of production before shipping
