Project description
Looking for an experienced contractor to clean out our home's gutters and repair two downspouts before the fall rains arrive. The gutters run along the entire roofline of a two-story house and have not been cleaned in over a year — expect a heavy buildup of leaves, twigs, and compacted sediment in several sections, particularly near the large oak tree on the north side.
Scope of work:
— Remove all debris from gutters by hand, bag it, and haul it away (do not dump on the lawn or in flower beds)
— Flush each gutter run with a hose to confirm water flows freely toward the downspouts
— Inspect and clear two downspouts that appear clogged — one near the garage is barely draining and overflows during rain
— Check and re-secure loose gutter hangers and brackets on the rear elevation, where the gutter has visibly sagged away from the fascia
— Reseal at least two joints that are leaking (visible drip marks on the siding below)
— Advise whether gutter guards are worth installing given the tree coverage, and provide a rough estimate if so
Safety requirements: bring your own extension ladder rated for the roofline height (approx. 18 ft at the peak), use ladder stabilizers on siding, and follow standard fall-protection practice. Please avoid walking on the roof unless necessary.
Please include in your bid: your approach to debris disposal, whether you carry liability insurance, an estimated timeline, and photos of similar gutter or downspout jobs you've completed. Availability within the next two weeks is preferred, ideally on a dry day. Local candidates only — this is an on-site job, and I can share photos of the problem areas ahead of a visit if that helps with your quote.
