Bring a beloved mechanical camera back to full working order with a service built specifically for photographic film equipment, not general electronics repair.
Every unit that arrives on the bench is stripped down to its core: shutter curtains and blades are inspected under magnification for pinholes, tension drift, and timing errors across all speeds; light seals and mirror bumpers are cut away and replaced with correctly sized foam or felt so the film chamber stays truly light-tight; and viewfinder glass, mirrors, and focusing screens are cleaned of haze and fungus threads without disturbing factory alignment.
Optical elements go through a full disassembly clean-lubricate-adjust pass: old hardened grease is removed from helicoids, aperture blades are freed of oil migration and re-timed to click evenly at every stop, and glass is cleared of fungus, haze, and separation where it can be safely addressed. Coupled and uncoupled rangefinder mechanisms are recalibrated with dedicated collimation tools so focus is accurate at both close range and infinity, checked against a test target rather than by eye alone.
Meters, self-timers, and slow-speed escapements are serviced or restored to reliable operation, and battery compartments are cleaned of corrosion and fitted with correct-voltage adapters where the original cell is no longer manufactured. Cosmetic work — leatherette re-covering, brassing touch-up, engraving cleaning — is available on request but never performed at the expense of mechanical accuracy.
Standard turnaround runs one to two weeks depending on parts sourcing for the specific mechanism, with photo documentation before and after and a written report of everything found and corrected. A test roll is shot and the results reviewed before the camera ships back, so you receive equipment that is verified working, not just visually restored.
