Our laundry room has two problems at once and we would like one visit to cover both if the technician is comfortable with washers and dryers. The front-load washing machine fills and agitates but the drum barely spins on the final stage, and there is a low grinding noise that gets louder toward the end of the cycle. That sounds to us like it could be the drum bearing or possibly the drive belt slipping, but we are not certain and would rather have someone qualified open the back panel and check the bearing, the belt, and the drain pump before ordering any parts.
The second unit is an electric dryer in the same closet. It tumbles and runs the full timer but the clothes come out barely warmer than when they went in. We already cleaned the lint trap and the exhaust duct ourselves, so we suspect the heating element or the thermal fuse, but again we would like a proper diagnosis rather than guessing and swapping parts at random.
What we need: a home visit to inspect both machines, a clear explanation of what is actually wrong with each one, and a quote for parts and labor before any work begins. We can supply the exact model information from the rating plates once we agree on a time. Parts sourcing can go through the technician's usual suppliers or we can order the specific part ourselves if that is cheaper and the technician tells us exactly what to buy.
