Project description
We are looking for a licensed electrician or contractor to plan and install a whole-house standby generator system for our home. We currently have no backup power, and after several multi-hour outages this past season we want a permanent, code-compliant solution rather than a portable unit we have to drag out and refuel by hand.
The project covers everything from the initial load calculation through final commissioning. We need someone who can walk our electrical panel, evaluate our circuits, and tell us honestly what size generator we actually need instead of just quoting the biggest unit available. Fuel supply also has to be worked out properly, whether that means running a new gas line from the meter or advising us on propane tank placement, along with all required clearances from windows, doors, and property lines.
We prefer to hire someone who has done this exact type of installation before and can show examples of finished work or provide references. Please include your estimated timeline and confirm whether pulling permits and passing inspection is part of your standard process.
Scope of work:
— Perform a full electrical load calculation to correctly size the generator
— Recommend generator make/model and fuel type (natural gas or propane)
— Install automatic transfer switch integrated with the main panel
— Run and connect the fuel supply line per local code
— Prepare the pad and mounting base for the unit
— Arrange required permits and pass final inspection
— Test the automatic start/transfer sequence and walk us through operation
