Project description
I recently bought a reclaimed slab of black walnut for the base of a new coffee table, and now I need a skilled artisan to turn it into a finished river table top using tinted epoxy resin. The piece will sit in the center of my living room, so I want the resin "river" running down the middle of the slab to look like flowing water, with deep ocean blue and teal-green tones blending together and a scattering of fine gold mica powder to catch the light.

I already have the wood slab prepared and sanded on one side, but I don't have the equipment or experience to pour resin safely, so I'm hiring someone who has done river tables before and can show a portfolio of similar work. The finished top needs to be food-safe and heat-resistant on the surface, with a glass-smooth, self-leveling finish and no visible bubbles, and the edges of the slab should be preserved with the bark line intact wherever possible.

I can ship the slab to you or meet locally to hand it over, whichever is easier, and I'm flexible on exact color proportions as long as the overall look stays in the blue/teal/gold family. Please include your recommended thickness and cure time in your proposal so I can plan when the table can safely be used.

Requirements and deliverables:
— Pour a single continuous resin "river" section through the existing walnut slab
— Use deep ocean blue and teal-green tinted epoxy with subtle gold mica accents
— Achieve a bubble-free, self-leveling, glass-smooth surface finish
— Preserve natural bark edges and wood grain wherever possible
— Deliver a food-safe, UV-resistant, heat-tolerant finished surface
— Provide progress photos at each pour stage and a care/maintenance guide
