Project description
We run a small bathhouse complex with two steam rooms — a traditional Russian banya and a Finnish sauna — plus a hamam that guests often ask for as a separate slot. Right now bookings come in through phone calls and a messenger chat, and double bookings happen almost every weekend because whoever answers first writes the time down by hand on a shared sheet. We need an online booking page where a guest picks the exact room, a date and time slot, and then adds extras such as a venik, tea service, or towel rental, all before paying a small deposit to confirm the slot.
The core requirement is that the system must never let two guests reserve the same steam room for an overlapping time, even if two bookings come in within seconds of each other. Slot length should be configurable per room, since the hamam runs on ninety-minute blocks while the banya and sauna run on two-hour blocks, and add-on services should appear as optional checkboxes with their own price added to the running total before checkout. We also want a simple staff view showing the whole day across all three rooms at a glance, the ability to block slots for maintenance or private parties, and a way to add walk-in guests by hand without breaking the no-overlap rule.

— guest confirmation by email or text message right after booking;
— a cancellation window with a configurable cutoff before the visit;
— basic no-show protection through a held deposit;
— an admin log of who changed or cancelled which booking and when.
We are open on the exact technology, but want something our own staff can maintain going forward, so include your suggested approach and a rough timeline in the proposal.
