Project description
Our recycling collection point gets busy on weekends, and people often show up with the wrong type of waste for the current bin, or arrive right when the yard is already full. We want a chatbot that fixes both problems at once: a resident opens the chat, picks the type of waste they're bringing — paper, plastic, glass, batteries, or another category — and the bot answers with the closest suitable collection point and a short list of open time slots.
The bot should know which points accept which materials, since not every yard takes batteries or mixed plastics, and it should avoid recommending a point that's already full for a given hour. After the resident picks a slot, the bot confirms the booking and sends a reminder shortly before the visit, so the reserved window doesn't go to waste. We'd like it to work inside a messenger app most residents already use, with a simple back office where our staff can add points, edit accepted categories, and open or close slots without touching any code.
What matters to us:
— clear step-by-step dialogue, no dead ends or confusing menus
— correct matching of waste type to collection point capability
— time-slot logic that prevents overbooking
— simple admin panel for staff without a technical background
— option to reschedule or cancel a booking, plus stable reminders sent on time
