BeeYard is a web application for an operating beekeeping store that sells everything an apiarist needs and the bees themselves. The catalog is structured the way a beekeeper actually shops: complete Dadant and Langstroth hives, hive bodies and honey supers, frames and foundation, smokers, bee veils and full suits, honey extractors, mite treatment products. Each product has its own attributes — frame size, wood type, assembled or disassembled. The heart of the application is the live bees and queens module: customers reserve nucleus colonies, bee packages and laying queens for seasonal shipping windows. Spring goods that will be ready only in April can be ordered as early as January — with a deposit, a place on the waiting list and automatic notification when the delivery week is confirmed. Weather delays shift the window for all affected orders and warn customers by email and SMS. A separate honey and wax showcase sells wildflower honey in jars, comb honey, pollen and rendered beeswax, tied to a specific apiary batch. Course registration for beginners is by available spots: weekend groups with capacity limits and a "materials included" option. Live bees and glass jars don't travel well, so local pickup is key here: the customer selects a slot at the store or at a market fair, and staff see a daily pickup sheet. The administrator manages inventory, shipping windows, queen rearing batches, course lists and pickup calendars from a single panel — with deposits through Stripe, partial refunds for weather cancellations and reports for each apiary.
