Project description
SkyDrift Flights is a booking and flight management platform created specifically for a tourism company organizing hot air balloon flights. Guests book not a fixed time, but a launch window, because flight depends on sunrise, sunset and calm weather. For each window, available basket capacity is displayed, and travelers reserve seats for dawn or sunset ascents over the valley.
Since ballooning is entirely weather-dependent, the application connects wind, visibility and precipitation forecasts and gives the balloon captain a go/no-go decision screen the evening before and again at dawn. When a flight is canceled, the system automatically offers affected passengers the option to reschedule independently to the nearest suitable window and notifies them by email and SMS, saving the operator from refund chaos.
Safety and load calculation are key features. Each passenger enters their weight during booking so the application can compile a basket manifest, verify that maximum takeoff weight is not exceeded for the day's temperature and altitude, and balance the compartments. Before boarding, guests sign a liability waiver using a legally binding electronic signature, and the crew sees a live manifest on tablets.
The platform also sells gift vouchers for anniversaries and marriage proposals, packages with champagne and breakfast, upgrades to a private basket, and filming from the chase vehicle. The operations console maintains pilot and ground crew schedules, tracks certificates and flight hours, assigns balloons and inflation fans, coordinates pickup routes. Reports cover occupancy, weather cancellation rate and voucher redemption, giving the operator a complete picture of the flight day from booking to landing.
