Project description
Molten — web application for an active art glass studio that transforms a busy hot shop into an understandable and manageable business. The core of the system is a scheduling engine built on the real logic of hot glass: a glass melting furnace runs on a constant melt cycle, annealing kilns need controlled cooling windows, and a bench can only accommodate a limited number of masters at once. Participants and students book class seats, torch stations and kiln slots within these constraints, so the calendar never double-books the glory hole or an already full annealing kiln. Beginner and advanced master classes (paperweights, tree ornaments, blown vessels) are sold as sessions with fixed times, seat limits, a waiting list and automatic reminder emails. Regular participants buy memberships for access hours that open independent bench time: with levels, a monthly hour limit and a door code. The orders module lets customers commission custom pieces: they specify size, color palette, quantity and deadline, upload references, get a quote, pay a deposit and track the order from sketch through mass gathering, blowing, annealing to delivery. The gallery of finished work shows pieces by each artist with photos, technique descriptions and possible retail prices, which connects to a simple shopping cart. Result: adaptive frontend, admin panel for staff, payment processing via Stripe for deposits and memberships, calendar with iCal sync, role-based accounts for owner, instructors and participants, email and SMS notifications, media library for gallery and order references. Includes electronic consent signature at first booking, cancellation and refund policies, reports on class occupancy, kiln load and revenue.
