Project description
SaddleForge — management web application for a workshop that hand-sews saddles, bridles, girths and harnesses to order. The core of the system is a custom order card: for each saddle the master records the gullet width, seat size, camera clearance, flap length, panel type and panel curve scheme, as well as rider measurements and a complete set of horse measurements — withers, back length, shoulder angle — uploaded as photos or taken with a flexible template. Each order goes through a production queue with named stages: pattern cutting, gullet and tree fitting, hand stitching, stuffing and fitting, oiling and final quality control. The master sees tasks assigned to them, logs hours against an estimate by stitch count and closes the stage, after which the queue is rebuilt by promised delivery date. Leather inventory is tracked by hides by tanning type, thickness in millimeters, color batch and remainder in square feet, written off by cutting for each item and alerts when bridle panel leather or wing leather is running low. The repair intake module registers tack for repair — restitching, strap replacement, gullet repair, restuffing — with before photos, a defect list and an estimate that the client approves online. Horse profiles store notes on conformation, saddle fitting history and restuffing reminders so regular clients can be matched with previous patterns. Result: adaptive web application, order and queue engine, warehouse with stock alerts, repair workflow, client portal for approvals and status, PDF job orders and material selection sheets, and a dashboard with reports on revenue, deadlines and leather consumption.
