Project description
I run a mid-sized restaurant and I want to stop juggling phone calls and a paper log. I need a web-based table-reservation system that lets guests pick a real table on an interactive floor plan, choose an available time slot, and confirm the booking in a couple of clicks. The core idea is a visual seating map that mirrors my actual dining room, including the window seats, the terrace, and the private corner, so the guest sees exactly where they will sit and I never end up with two parties assigned to the same table.
On top of the booking flow I need proper time-slot logic that understands turnaround time between seatings, party size, and how long a table stays occupied, so the system blocks conflicting slots automatically. For higher-demand evenings and larger groups I want the option to require a deposit at the moment of booking, with the payment recorded against the reservation. Every confirmed booking should trigger an email or SMS confirmation, plus a reminder before the visit to cut down on no-shows. Guests should be able to modify or cancel within rules that I define.
The other half of the project is the host dashboard: my staff need a clear daily view of who is coming, at what time, and to which table, with the ability to walk in a guest, mark arrivals, move a party to another table, and see the floor fill up in real time. Please note this is not a fitness class scheduler and not a QR digital menu; it is specifically about tables, seating, and reservations. Clean responsive design, an admin area for tables and working hours, and sensible protection against double-booking are essential.
