Project description
We run a content website and want to add a paid subscription layer so that a portion of our articles becomes visible only to paying members. Right now everything is open, and we would like several subscription tiers with different prices and access levels, so casual readers can still browse free content while premium material stays behind a paywall.
The core of the task is connecting subscription plans to a payment provider, handling recurring billing so subscriptions renew automatically each month or year, and gracefully managing failed payments, cancellations, and plan changes. Readers without an active subscription should see a teaser of restricted material with a clear call to upgrade, rather than a blank page or a broken layout.
We also need an admin-side way to mark which articles require which tier, plus a simple dashboard showing active subscribers and upcoming renewals. The system should integrate with our existing user accounts rather than a separate login. We are open to suggestions, as long as the result is secure and easy to maintain.
