Project description
We run a customer-facing website that collects personal data through contact forms, newsletter sign-ups, analytics scripts and third-party embeds, and we now need it brought fully into line with GDPR and general privacy expectations. The core of the job is a proper cookie consent solution: a clear banner that blocks non-essential scripts until the visitor actively agrees, remembers the choice, lets people change or withdraw consent later, and keeps a defensible record of what was accepted and when. Analytics, marketing pixels and any embedded widgets must only fire after the matching consent category has been granted, so this is not just a decorative banner but a real gating mechanism wired into how our pages load.
Beyond consent, we want the privacy policy properly integrated across the site and linked from every point where data is collected, with plain-language explanations of what we gather, why, how long we keep it and who it is shared with. We also need working data-subject request handling so visitors can ask to access, export or delete the information we hold, with a clear internal process and reasonable timelines behind each request. Just as important is a review of our actual data flows: please map where personal data enters, where it is stored, which external services receive it, and flag anything that looks risky, excessive or undocumented so we can fix it before it becomes a problem.
The ideal freelancer has hands-on GDPR experience with real websites, understands the difference between essential and optional cookies, and can translate legal requirements into concrete technical changes without breaking our existing functionality.
