Project description
Our training business is moving its programs online and we need a developer to build a complete learning management system that we can run as the backbone of the whole operation. Right now our lessons live in scattered files, spreadsheets and messaging chats, and we have no reliable way to enrol students, take payments or see who has actually finished a course. We want one platform where an administrator can create courses, organise them into modules and lessons, upload video and downloadable materials, and publish everything to enrolled students through a clean, mobile-friendly interface. Instructors should be able to manage their own courses, while students get a personal dashboard that shows what they are enrolled in and how far they have progressed.
The core of the project is the learning experience itself. Each course must support ordered lessons with text, embedded video and attachments, plus quizzes and tests that are graded automatically, with configurable pass marks and the option to retake. The system has to track every student's progress at the lesson and course level, mark completion, and issue a downloadable certificate once a course is finished. Access to courses must be paid: we need integration with a payment gateway so students can buy individual courses or subscription bundles, with access granted automatically after payment and revoked when a subscription lapses. An admin panel should give us reporting on enrolments, revenue, completion rates and quiz results, along with tools to manage users, coupons and refunds.
We are open to building on a proven open-source LMS such as Moodle or on a custom stack, as long as the result is stable, secure and easy for a non-technical team to run day to day. Please share relevant LMS or e-learning projects you have delivered, your proposed approach and platform, and a realistic timeline and milestone breakdown.
