Project description
We run an active Discord server that has outgrown manual management, and we are hiring a developer to build a reliable community bot that handles the day-to-day work for us. The moderation side is the priority: we want configurable word filters, anti-spam and raid protection, warning and mute systems with escalating penalties, and a clear audit log so our staff can see who did what and when. Alongside moderation we need an auto-role system that assigns roles based on reactions, verification steps and membership duration, plus a welcoming flow that greets each new member with a direct message and a channel post, walks them through the rules, and grants access once they confirm. Everything must be configurable per server through a settings file or simple command set, because we do not want to redeploy code every time we adjust a threshold.
Beyond the basics, the bot should support custom commands that our moderators can create and edit on the fly, scheduled announcements, and integrations with the external services we already use. We want it to pull data from our REST API, post updates when events happen, and optionally sync with a couple of third-party platforms through their APIs. Stability matters more than flashy features: the bot has to reconnect gracefully after outages, respect Discord rate limits, and log errors in a way we can actually read. We expect clean, well-structured code, sensible use of slash commands, and permissions that follow the principle of least privilege so a compromised token cannot wreck the server.
The finished work must be hosted on a service you recommend and set up, running as a persistent process with automatic restart, and it must come with documentation that a non-developer on our team can follow to configure and maintain it. Please include a short handover call and a two-week support window after launch to fix anything that surfaces in real use.
