About the service
I specialize in hand engraving on glass and crystal, focusing specifically on paired sets of glasses — for weddings and anniversaries. I work with a cutting tool directly on the glass surface: I carve names, dates, monograms, or a short phrase right into the material itself, rather than applying a decal or etching a design with acid. This type of engraving does not wear away from dishwasher washing and does not fade over time, because the line is physically carved into the glass.
Most of my orders are paired glasses for a wedding toast or a set for an anniversary, and I approach both occasions with equal care: the item must withstand packing, transportation, and years of use at festive gatherings. Before starting work, I always discuss with the client the occasion, names, date, and design style — calligraphic font, floral ornament, a small coat of arms, or simply neat initials. After discussion, I send a digital proof for approval, and only after your confirmation do I proceed directly to engraving. I can work with your own glasses or with a new crystal set that I will select myself.
The timeline depends on the complexity of the design and the number of items in the set, but I keep the client informed at each stage — from the proof to the final polishing. Finished items I pack in protective containers designed for shipping fragile glass, because even the most beautiful engraving is useless if the glass arrives with a crack.
What is included in the order:
— Discussion of text, font, and composition
— Digital proof for approval before work begins
— Hand engraving of 2 to 6 glasses or champagne flutes (quantity to be discussed)
— Durable coating resistant to dishwasher washing
— Protective packaging for gift or shipping
