About the service
I develop game and tool systems in Squirrel — a lightweight, C-like scripting language designed for embedding in games and applications. If your studio needs logic that designers understand, which lives outside the compiled binary, I'll build it. My work typically covers writing quest scripts, AI and interface logic in Squirrel, organizing reloadable configuration files, and connecting the Squirrel virtual machine to existing C++ code so the team can iterate without full rebuilds. I've implemented bindings that expose native classes, functions and constants to scripts, with correct reference counting and clean error propagation back to the host. On the embedding side, I properly configure the stack API, register external pointers, safely manage the root table, and add sandbox restrictions so untrusted mod content doesn't break the engine. I also do hot script reloading during runtime, state serialization, and integrate Squirrel with build pipelines and automated tests. The deliverables include commented source code, a small wrapper on the host side, unit tests for the bindings, and a brief guide so your programmers can expand everything themselves later. I profile hot spots, tune the garbage collector, and replace slow closures where it matters. I'm ready to jump in at any stage—from prototype to live game—and leave maintainable, well-documented code.
