Project description
We run a small online business and want to add a live chat widget to our website so visitors can talk to a real person instead of only filling out a contact form and waiting for an email reply. Right now people leave the site without any quick way to ask a question, and we are sure this costs us potential customers, so we would like it fixed soon.
The idea is simple: a chat button should appear on every page and open a conversation window connected to our support team. Several people take turns answering chats, so the system needs to distribute incoming dialogues between operators automatically, or at least allow us to reassign a conversation manually. Full chat history also matters — we want to open an old conversation later and avoid asking a returning visitor to repeat themselves.
Since nobody can stay online every hour, an offline form is required: a visitor leaves a name, a way to reach them and a short message, and that message reaches our team through email or another notification.
What we expect from the specialist:
— pick a suitable chat widget or assemble a lightweight custom one
— set up operator accounts, online status and dialogue distribution logic
— store chat history in a place our team can review
— build a working offline form with reliable notifications
— test on desktop and mobile browsers before handing the work over
