Project description
We are launching an online course marketplace and need a team to build the full platform for us. The idea is simple to describe but demanding to implement: many independent instructors publish their own video courses, and learners from anywhere browse the catalog, buy the courses that fit them, and study at their own pace. This is explicitly a marketplace with many sellers, not a single-organization learning system, so the whole design has to treat instructors as first-class accounts who own their content, set their prices, and earn a share of every sale.
On the instructor side we need a course builder where a teacher can create a course, split it into sections and lessons, upload or link video for each lesson, attach downloadable materials, and add quizzes that check what a learner remembered. On the learner side we need a clean catalog with search, categories and filters, course pages with previews and reviews, a shopping cart and checkout, and a personal dashboard that shows purchased courses and progress through every lesson. Ratings and written reviews should feed an average score on each course, and once a learner finishes all lessons and passes the final quiz the platform should issue a completion certificate automatically.
The money side is central and must be reliable. Each sale is split between the instructor and the platform according to a configurable revenue share, earnings accumulate in an instructor balance, and payouts are requested and tracked with a clear history. We expect an admin panel for moderation of new courses, handling disputes and refunds, and watching platform-wide statistics.
