Service description
I provide mobile technical maintenance and adjustment of a built-in generator for a motorhome or camper trailer — gasoline or gas unit that provides electricity away from a power outlet. You don't need to remove the heavy unit and take it to a workshop or wait for weeks in line: I come to your parking spot, storage garage, or directly to the campground with a complete mobile toolkit and get the generator working on site.

A standard visit includes oil and oil filter replacement with viscosity selection for your specific small-displacement engine, inspection and if necessary replacement of the air filter, removal of the spark plug with gap checking or installation of a new one, cleaning of the fuel system and carburetor from varnish and resins left by stale fuel, as well as inspection of the exhaust tract and cooling shrouds for blockages. I also separately inspect the manual starter and electric starter chain, battery terminals if electric start is used, and wiring of the automatic load transfer switch if installed.

After mechanical work, I perform a load test with a portable resistive load bank to ensure the generator actually maintains its rated power under real load conditions, not just runs smoothly at idle. I check voltage and frequency with a meter and record signs of capacitor failure, brush wear, or unstable ignition module — before it leaves you stranded at a parking spot without air conditioning, refrigerator, or the ability to charge your battery.

Most owners approach this equipment once a season, and stale fuel combined with dust and rodents in storage locations cause most of the breakdowns I encounter. I bring fuel stabilizer, spare gaskets, common filters, and basic wiring parts, so I usually complete most work in one visit without needing to return. Cost depends on the generator's displacement, fuel type, and how long the unit has been sitting idle — I always agree on an estimate before disassembly. I schedule appointments around your travel plans and explain in detail what service interval your specific model needs so the generator is ready to provide reliable power on your next trip.
