Service description
I am a mobile technician specializing in onboard generators for motorhomes, travel trailers, and campervans — working with propane, gasoline, and hybrid systems. If you purchased a bare chassis and need a generator installed and connected from scratch, or your Onan, Champion, or Cummins has started stalling, sputtering, or won't start at all — I come to your yard, storage facility, or campground with all equipment and parts, without needing to haul your home on wheels to a service center.
A typical installation includes mounting the generator in a compartment or on a frame, running fuel lines from a propane tank or separate gasoline container, connecting a load transfer switch and remote start panel, routing exhaust away from windows and slide-outs, and grounding the entire system to code so it passes RVIA standard inspection. I size the power to your actual load — air conditioner, inverter, microwave — so the generator doesn't shut down during normal use, not just at idle.
For maintenance, I handle carburetor cleaning and overhaul, spark plug and oil changes, air and fuel filter replacement, system flushing after fuel that sat over winter, adjustment of the governor and voltage regulator, and diagnostics of typical complaints: cranks but won't start, runs rough only under load, stalls minutes after startup due to overheating or low-oil sensor activation. I carry a portable load-test unit to verify the generator holds voltage and frequency under actual air conditioner load, not just at idle — ordinary startup won't reveal this.
After each visit I leave a written report describing findings, work performed, and what to check before your next trip, plus photos of wiring and mounting for your records. I stock consumables in my vehicle — filters, plugs, gaskets — for Onan and Champion, so most calls are resolved in one visit without ordering parts separately. After installation I offer a follow-up visit with load testing after a week of use to catch issues that only appear after real operating cycles.
