I develop and assemble interactive lessons and custom blocks in Snap! — a visual block-based programming language from Berkeley. Snap! is an extension of Scratch on a Scheme engine: it adds procedures and lists as first-class objects, as well as recursion, which makes it ideal for teaching real computer science ideas without the pain of syntax.
What I do:
— Interactive lessons that guide a student step by step — from the first block to recursion, higher-order functions like map and reduce, and list processing.
— Custom blocks (BYOB, Build Your Own Blocks) tailored to your program, with clear hints, correct input types, and clean internal logic.
— Ready-made projects for the classroom: games, simulations, quizzes, and small applications that make abstract concepts visual.
— Entire libraries of blocks that can be imported and reused across different lessons and groups.
Why me: I know Snap! deeply, including its roots in Scheme, the mechanics of lambdas and loops, and how list-objects behave from the inside.
