Typed Scripts in Amber Instead of Bash

Your Bash scripts fail in the most unpredictable ways—a variable turns out empty, a path contains a space, a return code goes unchecked? I'll rewrite that pain in Amber—a modern programming language that compiles to regular, portable Bash. You get the readability and safety of a truly typed language, and the result still runs anywhere a familiar shell script does, without installing any additional runtime.

What I do: deployment and release scripts, backup and recovery procedures, log rotation and cleanup, cron wrappers, installation and bootstrap scripts, CI/CD pipeline steps, and glue code between your tools. Everything is written in Amber—with real variables, typed functions, careful error handling, and clear control flow—then compiled into a single Bash file that you can put straight on your server.

Why Amber instead of handwritten Bash: strings and numbers are actually typed, so an entire class of quoting and word-splitting bugs simply cannot occur. Errors are caught, not swallowed. The source reads like a normal program, so the next person who opens the code—including you in the future—won't be afraid of it. And since everything compiles to standard Bash, you don't need to drag along a Python or Node runtime and explain a new dependency to your ops team.

Each project includes: readable, commented source code in Amber, compiled Bash, a short README about building and running it, and a brief walkthrough so your team can maintain it all.
