GIS Specialist — Geospatial Analysis & Custom Maps

I am a GIS specialist, and I help businesses, researchers, and planners make sense of where things happen on the ground. My core work is geospatial analysis and cartography: I take messy address lists, survey points, satellite-derived layers, or open government datasets and turn them into structured, correctly projected spatial data you can actually reason about. Whether you need site suitability scoring, catchment and drive-time areas, density and hotspot analysis, or overlay of demographic and infrastructure layers, I build the workflow end to end and document every step so the result is reproducible rather than a one-off black box.

I work daily in QGIS and ArcGIS, with PostGIS for larger datasets and Python (GeoPandas, Shapely) for automation when a task repeats or scales beyond the point where clicking is sensible. I handle the unglamorous but decisive parts carefully: choosing the right coordinate reference system, cleaning and validating geometries, geocoding and reverse-geocoding, joining tabular attributes to features, and reconciling data that arrives in a dozen incompatible formats. My cartography is designed to be read, not just admired: sensible symbology, honest classification breaks, legible labels, and layouts that survive both print and screen.

Each engagement starts with a short conversation about the decision your map or analysis needs to support, because that is what determines scale, projection, and which layers matter. You receive the finished map or dataset plus the project files and a plain-language explanation of assumptions and limitations, so your team can trust it and extend it later.
