GTM & GA4 Analytics Setup: Events, Conversions, dataLayer
Service description
I am a Google Tag Manager and analytics implementation specialist, and I make your tracking accurate instead of approximate. Most sites I inherit have half-broken tags, duplicate pageviews, and numbers that nobody in the team actually believes. I fix that from the ground up: I build a clean GTM container, wire it to GA4 with a proper measurement setup, and turn the vague request "we want to track everything" into a concrete, documented tagging plan. Before I touch a single tag I map out what business questions the data must answer, which user actions matter, and how each one should look in your reports. That measurement plan is the difference between dashboards you glance at and dashboards you make decisions with.
On the technical side I work with triggers, variables, custom event tags and a structured dataLayer so your data survives redesigns and framework changes. I implement GA4 events and conversions, e-commerce and enhanced e-commerce tracking (product views, add-to-cart, checkout steps and purchases), form submissions, outbound clicks, scroll and engagement signals, and cross-domain tracking when you run several properties. I set up server-side tagging where it improves data quality and consent, connect Google Ads and Search Console, and make sure Consent Mode and your cookie banner do not silently kill your numbers. Everything is validated in Preview mode, Tag Assistant and the GA4 DebugView so you can watch each event fire before it goes live.
You receive a working, tested setup plus a short handover document: what fires where, how the dataLayer is structured, and how to add the next tag yourself without breaking anything. I keep the container tidy, named consistently and free of the orphan tags that make audits painful later. Whether you need a brand-new implementation, a migration from Universal Analytics to GA4, or a rescue of an existing mess, I can take it end to end.
— GTM container build, cleanup and audit
— GA4 setup, events, conversions and custom dimensions
— E-commerce and enhanced e-commerce tracking
— dataLayer design and developer specification
— Server-side tagging and Consent Mode configuration
— Debugging with Preview, Tag Assistant and DebugView
